The digital screens were fitted with JCDecaux’s beacon devices. A message displayed on the screen encouraged passengers to redeem an e-coupon using WeChat Shake by simply shaking their mobile devices near the digital screens.
To complete the drive-to-store strategy, a message was displayed on the consumer’s mobile device, encouraging them to redeem the e-coupon at the nearest store, which allowed them to enjoy a free alcohol tasting in the store or receive a gift upon purchases made.
